We aim to protect the service users rights to:

  • Choice, dignity, privacy, civil rights, fulfillment, religious and cultural beliefs
  • Freedom from all kinds of abuse, have a range of options open to them
  • Calculated risk taking

Lifestyle

  • Entertainment and activities are offered, participation is purely optional
  • A residents committee meets at least once a month to discuss the various running and routines of the home including menus, and activities
  • We are a non-smoking home
  • Telephones can be installed in your room alternatively a mobile phone is available in the quiet room
  • Clergy, GP’s and hairdressers visit the home on request
  • Chiropodists, physiotherapists. opticians, district nurses can also visit via the GP and subject to an assessment of need

Staffing

Cook preparing lunchThe home is run by a care manger who is also a registered nurse. In her absence the home is managed by a range of qualified nurses, and care staff many have NVQ 2 and 3 qualifications. All new staff receive an induction to TOPPS specification and throughout the year attend foundation training.

Diet

  • Meals and refreshments can be taken in your own room
  • Including breakfast
  • There is no pressure to get up or go to bed the choice is yours
  • Food is prepared on the premises and there is a choice at all meal times
  • Tea making in your own room can be facilitated subject to a valid assessment of risk.
